Hello there! Welcome to my thoughts and feelings!

Angela A Stanton, PhD

Angela A Stanton, PhD

I am Angela A. Stanton, PhD. I received my doctorate in a field that incorporates several specialties with the focus on neuroscience and the hormones associated with decision-making. The measurement is by economic games and heavy mathematics. My official doctorate is PhD in Economics with dissertation entirely in neuroscience. This degree is PhD in Neuroeconomics. See my CV for full information at the end.

I specialize in hormonal (neurotransmitter) variations of the brain and how those variations change the decisions a person makes. Although I am not an economist in the classical sense by a long shot, I do have a couple of well-known papers that are economics and mathematics. One is very well-known (and quite hated by many neoclassical economists); it was specifically requested by and was published in a special edition of the Revue Française d’Economie translated to French (not by me). This is the English original and here is the French translated published version (kind of fun to see it in French). 🙂

I now focus only on neuroscience and specifically on certain brain functions and irregularities as they relate to chronic pain. You can find my dissertation for sale on amazon  or the original academic published form free at the Journal of Dissertations or part of it in an academic journal published article that was coauthored by my doctoral chair, me and an MD who was present during my experiments (she did not take part in the experiments themselves, only ensured safety). This particular academic paper only represents chapter two of my dissertation.

In the process of my doctoral research many of the experiments I conducted on human volunteers manipulating their neurotransmitters you can find published in academic articles and some are sold on amazon. I am very honored to have been an invited participating author in the Encyclopedia of the Mind. My latest book “Fighting The Migraine Epidemic: A Complete Guide: How To Treat & Prevent Migraines Without Medicine” is available in paperback and e-book for minimal price all over the world–mostly via internet though stores and libraries also carry it. The e-book is only available on amazon. The amazon link is here.

I also dabbled into constitutional law as part of my dissertation for human experiments required a published thesis on human rights with respect to experimentation with their body and body parts (my thesis is section 3, chapter 5 “Forfeited Consent: Body Parts in Eminent Domain“). This thesis is now textbook material for law students in some universities (not all). It is a mathematical analysis of justice making process (injustice in this case) and mockery of the justices’ arguments.

Why Migraine?

My doctoral studies did not start out with the goal of understanding migraine (please find my CV at the end in PDF), but they helped me because of two key reasons:

1) My doctorate is multidisciplinary, meaning it requires the understanding of many fields. It taught me to be broad in my vision and stay open-minded to be able to think out of the box and to connect the dots. I have become more of a visionary scientist (I would call that a theorist if there was such in medicine) than a lab scientist. I take advantage of being able to connect dots that are invisible to others.

2) I too am a migraineur so seeing the problem from within allowed me to ask questions that other researchers or doctors cannot think of.

I have discovered the cause of migraines and have been living a migraine and medicine free life for many years now. I am passing on the wisdom to thousands of migraineurs and also to many doctors now all over the world. I have a long list of testimonials posted on my special website to Stanton Migraine Protocol®, which is now the gold standard and only true prevention and treatment for migraines without medicines. Many doctors and even a local hospital now sends migraineurs my way for treatment and there are several doctors in my migraine group to learn what I do.

Member of the following associations:

Although membership associations may not be important for many people I deal with, they are very important because it is their publications that guided me toward understanding the connections between disparate literature to be able to connect them to one coherent understanding of migraines.

American Academy of Neurology (AAN)
American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS)
International Headache Society (IHS)
The American Diabetic Association (ADA)
The American Physiological Society (APS)
The Society for Neuroscience (SfN)

Although my passion is migraines, I find connections between migraines and several other conditions such as metabolic syndrome, glucose intolerance and diabetes, I also study metabolic disorders as they affect the brain. Additional conditions that are also affected by dietary changes are fibromyalgia, epilepsy, depression, and anxiety and so I am working on these as well. And finally, a new disease of being “floxed” hit my radar in early 2014. Being floxed is a condition that is caused by the use of the fluoroquinolone (quinolone) class of antibiotics. There are over 30 drugs in that class but the most often prescribes ones that so far has caused the most damage are:

  • Ciprofloxacin (Ciloxan Ophthalmic and Cipro)
  • Levofloxacin (Levaquin and QUIXIN Ophthalmic)
  • Lomefloxacin (Maxaquin)
  • Moxifloxacin (Avelox)
  • Norfloxacin (Chibroxin Ophthalmic and Noroxin Oral)
  • Ofloxacin (Floxin and Ocuflox Ophthalmic)
  • Sparfloxacin (Zagam)
  • Trovafloxacin (Trovan)

These cause debilitating pain and disability that have even led to suicide. These drugs modify bacterial DNA; hence their effectiveness. However, each of our cells contains hundreds of thousands mitochondria (millions in brain cells)–mitochondria are bacteria that have a symbiotic relationship with humans. Mitochondria provide energy for us to use–we cannot live without Mitochondria. The quinolone class antibiotics damage mitochondrial DNA. Damage shows up often years later in various stages that are often permanent. The most critical is when the body simply cannot get energy to function.

As of today there is no cure or treatment for this problem; the FDA recently modified the label for these drugs (yay!) to reflect the damage they cause and to remove them from easy prescription access like simple UTIs or sinus infections. Until a medicine is not officially found to be the cause problems, no pharmaceutical company is spending money searching for a cure for a “non-existing problem.” Therefore I now study the possible recovery of these mitochondria by stem-cell renewal which is actually quite possible without the medical industry getting involved.

Current Research

Since my focus is migraines and migraines are so connected to nutrition, my current research is the full understanding of all metabolic processes and to help migraineurs prevent the inevitable type 2 diabetes and the associated metabolic diseases migraineurs end up with. The reasons for the sensitivity to these metabolic disorders is genetic. However, genetics is a probability and not a certainty. The course of one’s life is influenced, but not directed, by her or his genetic predisposition. Therefore, with proper nutrition, migraineurs can reverse and prevent their health condition. What that proper nutrition may be is the focus of my research.

    Please help me.
My daughter is 16, chronic migrain sufferer. I see you are building a website on a diet you are working on. I can’t afford to wait for its completion. I need resources asap. Her life is severely impacted by continual morning pain of migraines , especially in the winter months. The school is working with us with Intermittent homebound as she is out of school for days in a row, or at best, every couple days. This was the routine last year and we are right back into the same situation again. She’s a typical teen. When she feels ok she doesn’t want to think about anything migraine. When she’s sick, which is most of the time, she’s begging for relief. She had a neurologist since 3rd grade. We’ve tried all types of medications, focused on water intake etc. We also have an appoint scheduled 7 months out at MISC Kids. So far no diagnosis has been made except Migraine.
Tests were run at early age to rule out a growth of any kind. As of last month she’s on birth control to help balance hormone levels in an effort to help with Migraines. As a teen who hates limitations she will hate the idea of having her diet restricted/dictated. Your triggers and hers are strikingly similar- weather, pressure, temp, change etc. It was like reading about her. As she is chronic I have concerns regarding health impact on her future as well as present. I need guidelines, not generalities so we can get started. i need to incorporate a plan into her life so she can learn to live with it as
well as come to appreciate it’s benefit. Please help me as a parent. Next step is to meet with a nutritionist, but they aren’t specializing in migraine. They provide generalities. I need something to give to my teen that makes sense to her and is a realistic approach. She’s giving up on me finding relief, but I’m not giving up until I find people who treat the cause, not only her symptom.

I live in San Angelo, TX and lost Dr Gross, my ADHD and PTSD prescriber. For over a year I have only overcome bumps in the road that bang in the night not like successfully, but with the false fictions of failure; and I reactively when my prevailing awareness is lower than optimal I have to address these residuals modes like some collective mind map maze shining and shaking to release those of eye rise from every less than flash in the pan plan stepping upon and everywhere even new and now here more so than every there and then added up, yes way and much more encapsulated where every sphere is a horizontal truth on a parallel axis When I say disenoblement I am referring to the unuprightedness inherent as the second fall follow following the first inversion. I avoid to avoid esteem holes knowing as the tiniest ray of light in a total dark is seen so might an illusion block open up my looking of back instead of release of gone and by the way.

    • You are very poetic Greg. Not sure if you have a question. There is a blog post I would like to share with you: http://louisefowler.com/2015/12/03/ptsd/ that contains my email exchange with a PTSD friend. It may be of help to you. As for ADHD: I am not a fan of any medicine for anything that is not a physical ailment and particularly not for ADHD (or ADD) that, as per the very creator of these “diseases,” do not exist. He declared them to be phantom diseases to make $3 million from pharmaceuticals. And though he stated very clearly that they do not exist, all medical textbooks still contain them as legit diseases. They are not. I personally find that people who were given these diagnoses have above average IQs and the society deemed their restless curiosity and boredom with simple and repetitive detailed tasks as though it was a disease rather than a benefit. It is a benefit though so do not look for a doctor but look inside of you to undo the damage those drugs did and find your strength in a field of interest and dig in, make history by discovering something that an average brain cannot.

Thank you Angela. I have all in all one poetic center ball of a round wall seeing through unimaginable over too tall going under like stuck thunder going around and round the foundless abounds. I am a lonely sphere with little ability to maintain relationships. I avoid the flourish and if I were a flower I would surely hide. After graduating from Central here in San Angelo, Texas 1976, I decided that I was not in any form or fashion able to but dream beyond the wall. I dream in round sounds walking on abounding grounds foot steps in slack reverb, in the canyon of echo calling walls. If I were to be what I in highest ideal can it would will itself so far above and beyond my better I would have to send myself a letter and ask that invisible chain of self boundation and the shell of my enclosure a door and a key to the morrow of more and the shore of appreciable otherness. I have no window other than imaginings many of which I would love to let go of and I would unshame my self concept. I would have not one distortion through which to say I saw and say see saw you all for lastly I would not want another follow of another fall. In my darkest pain and hurt I find my round shell unwell, cracking and in fear of the unknown. I as well am left with two thoughts: Is this to harm me or something else. Kahlil Gibran, after stimulants enabled my ability to read on a level of transformation and inspiration endowed me with hope and good fortune. …those dark nights, those water wave delusions from a full moon light, those dead letter dogma doodles shouted off of rooftops, and all the failed drug injections I would not administer to a thousand Hitler clones, just amplified my distress. I sought the help of perceived professional. I had no conscious awareness nor vocabulary to cloth the truth of my social shut off. I seem only pseudo-social when I am altered by drugs that over-ride disphoria, that over-ride my reactive introjections that devastate any natural and normal ability to encomfort companionship and recall my true latent abilities and most importantly my reason for being. Therefore without some grand plan, one from which I have worked for, for validation, I would only stop hitting my head against the wall because that and that only would feel so good. I do know that there is an underlying meaning in every detail of life and I via acid have irrevocable realization of my truest center, the center from which every I am of ancient and present speak, and know of the comfort and enlistment in this “new army armed with faith.” (Jewel)

well Angela, I look forward to peeking in on your blog each week – and wow – your aim is a good one…
writing about “serious misdiagnoses and mis-medications”
well more power to ya – because (as I am sure you know) the power of one can have a huge impact – and this area needs help. 🙂

    • Yes, I know the fight is a large one Yvette but the bigger the better. If I have not even tried, I would feel really bad about that so I give it my best shot. It may not work, but at least I will achieve as much as calling attention to a problem people like to sweep under the rug. Let’s see if I can expose that dirt! 🙂

    • Thanks Sherri. No. She has not passed yet. We are waiting, I am busy chasing evils.. they still want to “discharge” her meaning dump her somewhere other than the hospital so I am no longer going to see her because I am mobbed by the case managers and hospice people. I am also not answering the phone anymore. I am just waiting for the last call and in the meantime filing with the state agencies and everywhere possible to get these hospitals off the map or under new management. Hugs. I will write when I have the chance. Hope your family is OK! ❤

  7. Hi Angela, I am so happy for you!!! I have story..but not sure if I would want to have it in a book…but good luck to you Doctor…so happy God Bless
Sherri…I am going to re-blog this I am so proud you are such a great gal.

    • Thanks Sherri! I will not name names or give any private information. I will be writing a book to change the medical system. It will just list cases I know of where there were serious misdiagnoses and mis-medications that caused harm. I understand though that you’d rather keep it private. Thank you for visiting and all the best! Hugs!!
